Share For this month’s Better Collective spotlight, SBC had a chat with Kyriakos Fourniadis, Director Greece & Romania and Theo Riganis, Director of Thessaloniki from Better Collective’s Greek flagship brand Betarades.gr, to discuss the ways the brand utilises YouTube talk shows, and how this helps drive engagement and retention. The Betarades.gr brand has accrued a large social media presence over the last few years, having amassed more than 54,600 subscribers on its YouTube channel since its inception during the 2018 World Cup. We discussed how Betarades.gr has used this platform to grow brand awareness.SBC: Can you explain a bit about the strategy and structure behind the YouTube channel? The core idea is to create interesting content that both entertains and engages our users and followers. To be able to attract awareness to the site from relevant target groups in these fragmented media times, you need to have a clear content strategy and ensure that the content you publish is of high quality. We have invested heavily in building a professional recording setup i.e. we record and produce the talk shows in a professional recording studio. Through the YouTube channel, we gain lots of visitors to our website where the users can find more information, details, news stories and offers from our partners.SBC: How do you use the platform to engage with your followers? Our flagship programme is called Betarades Guest. Here, we invite public persons such as sports celebrities to join our show and to talk about everything from sports events to personal stories and everyday situations. The most important aspect is that the show has to be entertaining and have an edge. Our viewers have the opportunity to ask questions to the guests at the end of every show. This way, the show becomes very interactive and the viewers get a feeling of being closer to the brand and celebrities – this is something they enjoy and something that brings value to our business. SBC: How do you earn media coverage on the shows? The strategy is to create entertaining content and news stories with an edge that is also interesting for the Greek media. Once the talk show is recorded we pitch the show to relevant media. This has proved to be a valuable setup for all parties as the media gets access to high-quality produced content that is relevant for their readers while Betarades gets extra exposure in the media. SBC: What value does the programme bring to your business? We are able to engage and retain our followers which is very valuable to our business. Being able to activate our users and followers strengthens the relationship between the players and our brand. When Greek media also publish the talk show through their media channels, we increase the awareness of our brand and hence attract more visitors to our site. And not to forget: We are having a lot of fun recording the shows which sparks great energy to the team.To read some of the media coverage from the show, click here. They have a really good team and I’m just trying to come in and be another piece to the puzzle.”Louisville held a slight edge for Taylor prior to his visit to Auburn. When the final buzzer sounded at the end of Ohio State’s win in its regular season finale, Mark Titus’ “playing” career in a Buckeye uniform was over. On his own senior night, Titus shed tears, entered the game, and recorded a “trillion” in his final collegiate game. But is his basketball career over? Despite entering — and promptly being kicked out of — last year’s NBA draft, Titus said he’s ready to give professional basketball another shot. “I’m going to try, yeah,” Titus said. “I’m definitely still a free-agent NBA player, and if anybody wants to pick me up, I’d be happy to lend my services.” His first priority is getting healthy. Titus missed the majority of his senior campaign with a shoulder injury and had a season-ending surgery following the Buckeyes’ completion of the regular season. But NBA executives need not worry. Titus said he has fully healed and is ready to play. “I just got out of the sling, which is really exciting,” he said. “I had to wear a sling for like five weeks or something like that. I’m excited to start playing again if I get drafted somewhere.” Titus is aware, however, that some might question whether a guy who played in just 32 games during his four-year career is good enough to play in the NBA. For the doubters, he created his “Mr. Rainmaker” video earlier this year. Following its release, Titus said he planned to use the video as evidence of his exceptional basketball abilities. “I’m going to send the video to NBA scouts and see what comes back from that,” Titus said. “I already tried to get a hold of Greg Oden to tell him to talk to the [Portland Trail] Blazers for me. “We’ll see what happens, but I’m sure I could raise some hell with this draft, too.”
Switzerland boss Vladimir Petkovic admitted that they are “sorely disappointed” with their World Cup exit, but congratulated Sweden for their progressLike their opponents, the Rossocrociati were unable to take full advantage of their opportunities and were made to pay for their poor finishing when Emil Forsberg struck the decisive blow for Sweden midway through the second half through a deflection off Manuel Akanji.Speaking after their last-16 exit, Petkovic confessed that his side were not at their best for the encounter.“We’re sorely disappointed, the whole team is. We clearly wanted to do more,” the former Lazio boss said on the FIFA website.Euro 2020 qualifiers round up from group F George Patchias – September 6, 2019 Euro 2020 qualifying Group F saw Scandinavian neighbours Sweden and Norway keep the race for the groups second automatic qualifying spot alive.Spain had already…“But we also congratulate the Swedish team as they have done precisely what they are very good at, and it has been enough to beat us. Once they score a goal, they’re an extremely tough nut to crack.“We should have done better but were simply below par and not good enough to win the game. There was something missing in that match from us but in all the games Sweden have been involved in, their opponents have had a difficult time developing the emotions and momentum you need.“In the last 10 or 15 minutes, we tried to play with more emotion and it went better, I think. But in the end, it wasn’t enough.”Tuesday’s defeat was Switzerland’s first since October 2017 in a World Cup qualifier against Portugal, ending a run of nine unbeaten matches.
